Every year for a week, Miami becomes the International capital of auteur cinema. Thousands of film fans and industry professionals meet here in May to share their thirst for new discoveries and a passion for independent cinema in all its diversity. The audience is the soul of the Festival and participants enjoy famed evenings events at Miami Beach and Coral Gables hotels, that offer magical settings that can accommodate up to 4,500 film goers every night. The Festival is closely chronicled by media from all over the world –including The Miami Herald, The New Times, The Sun Post, Where Magazine, Artmag, Around Town Magazine, all the specialist press –including The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, Le Film français, Les Cahiers du cinéma, Sight and Sound, not to mention the whole of the local press.

2.  Master classes and workshops at FIU and High Schools

Filmmakers, actors and producers accompany the première of their film and meet Miami’s exceptional eager audience at riveting Q & A sessions. The film and cultural personalities inter-act with an audience of students full of respect and passion for film, with whom they engage during the traditional must-see master classes that are open and free to students. And, far removed from the usual stress, industry professionals from all over the world find conditions here that are ideal for productive networking, whether at the various workshops in universities or High Schools or the informal happy hours organized by the hotels. 4.  Empowering Independent and Student filmmakers around the Globe

The mission of Red Chemistry Inc. is not only to give exposure to independent European films but our goal is to encourage and champion independent and student filmmakers worldwide through our year-round programming. Our annual Short Film Festival, educational activities and workshops and master classes, help filmmakers through all stages of their careers – from choosing to embark on a career in film in high school to producing independent films as a seasoned veteran. The short film competition is a classic example of our focus and gives young filmmakers from many countries an opportunity to gain public exposure, compete for a cash prize to finance future projects and network with both new and experienced people in the movie industry.
